Adding External Data to the MLDS
Center data are provided through ongoing data sharing agreements with partner agencies (MSDE (opens in new tab), MHEC (opens in new tab), Labor (opens in new tab), DJS (opens in new tab), MVA (opens in new tab) and U.S. Census (opens in new tab)). These data are provided at regular intervals for all students and/or workers available in the data set. While the MLDS is very comprehensive and capable of supporting a wide range of research inquiries, in certain instances a data set external to the system may allow for a unique study or program evaluation of benefit to Maryland.
If you are interested in having an external data set added to the MLDS, please carefully review these policies and procedures (opens in new tab). Center staff are available to help and support you with your request.
After you have reviewed the policies and procedures, you may begin your application here (opens in new tab). Please note that in most instances, an external researcher application is also required.
